Princeton Student Climate Initiative (PSCI) has numerous project teams, one of which focuses on researching the town of Princeton's Climate Action Plan Emission Reduction Strategies (CAPERS). To encourage participation and new recruitment, the CAPERS team held a "virtual winter break internship" for students. Students are currently researching policies and programs to ensure new buildings in the community achieve fossil-fuel-free performance, and we are resuming presentations of these projects in weekly Tuesday meetings. CAPERS is also connected to Sustainable Jersey in developing a methodology for assessing building energy efficiency.

Plastics Project
Pollution from single-use plastics harms our planet, our wildlife, and our own health. Much of this pollution comes from plastic items we don't need in our lives at all - from plastic grocery bags to polystyrene (aka Styrofoam) takeout food containers. The plastics project aims to push forward both local and statewide legislation to ban single-use plastic bags. Currently, we are focused on forming key partnerships with other organizations, such as ANJEC and the Plastic Pollution Coalition, & taking action for a state plastics bill to pass through the state Assembly.
