
Plastics Project
Pollution from single-use plastics harms our planet, our wildlife, and our own health. Much of this pollution comes from plastic items we don't need in our lives at all - from plastic grocery bags to polystyrene (aka Styrofoam) takeout food containers. The plastics project aims to push forward both local and statewide legislation to ban single-use plastic bags. Currently, we are focused on forming key partnerships with other organizations, such as ANJEC and the Plastic Pollution Coalition, & taking action for a state plastics bill to pass through the state Assembly.

Artistic Activism
*To get involved with any of our projects and/or campaigns make sure to join the coalition by filling out our interest form!
Overview: The Artistic Activism team uses art/music/film to raise awareness about issues. They partner with other teams and organizations, and we use art to build relationships within NJSSC. They also have a book club and are going to spend time with multiple guest speakers from outside of the coalition.

What you can do: Create your own activist art to share, help plan events and workshops, come up with creative ways to infuse art and activism!
